Vision

At Structure and Syllables Literacy Tutoring, I provide effective and affordable literacy instruction using evidence-based structured literacy methods, specifically tailored to students with dyslexia. My goal is to empower every learner to gain confidence, master essential reading skills, and cultivate a genuine passion for literacy.

As a parent of two amazing children with dyslexia, I combine my professional knowledge with personal experience to understand the challenges faced by students and families in the education system. I am dedicated to helping families navigate the intricacies of obtaining the right support and delivering personalized instruction that enables children to become skilled and self-assured readers.

Currently, I am studying at the University of the Fraser Valley, working towards my undergraduate degree in History and a diploma as a library technician. After graduation, I plan to pursue a master's degree in Library and Information Science to achieve my aspiration of becoming a children's librarian.

TESTIMONIALS

With Jessica's unwavering support, my daughter has transformed from a reluctant reader - discouraged by her dyslexia diagnosis - into an enthusiastic bookworm. Her confidence has soared, she's thriving in high school, and she now eagerly looks forward to her two hours with Jessica each week. Jessica's approach - combining structured literacy, the Barton program, and adaptable methods tailored to each student's needs and preferences - has truly worked wonders. We are beyond grateful for the impact she has had on our daughter's academic journey and self-esteem.
